  • Dianthus Question(s)

My Wife has just brought a variety of Dianthus called raspberry Surprise, it is a beautiful flower with a lovely scent, just a few questions though

    A) Will it come back year after year?
    B) does it spread?
    C) How do you care for them when it's finished flowering? Cut them back or let them die back on it's own?

Yes it is a perennial. I found it on www.perennial.com (sorry can't do a link from my phone) it recommends shearing back lightly after flowering. I've tried growing pinks before but they don't like my clay soil as they need sharp drainage. I love the scent too.

They're mega easy to propagate from cuttings - give it a go, you could end up with loads of freebie plants!
Imagination is everything, it is a preview of what is to become.
