  • Twisted willow, red lumps.

    Hi Guys,

My twisted willow tree has lived happily for four years in my garden, today I walk past and notice these large red bumps on some of the leaves.

The red lump appears both on top and underneath the leaf.

Now reading up on this it may be rust however the few photos I can find don't match, or it could be insect infestation. The bark has been scratched up by my kitties but I can take some photos if it may help.

Over the whole tree I think I've pulled off 10 leaves with the marks so not a great deal.

Please advise on what to do.

I think it's most likely to be willow sawfly. I remember these vividly from a willow tree we had in our garden when I was a child. I don't don't what treatment is available, though, sorry.
