  • Unidentified flower in my garden

I am not one for growing flowers unless they have a use in the garden/kitchen so I am clueless when it comes to most. I thought this was a marigold seedling popping up, but as it grew I can see it isn't. Being experimental and all that we left it to see what it is. Still no clue.

Can anyone id this for me please? Unless it is something nasty it will be left to flower fully.

When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.

I think it may be borage.

If it is the bees love it, you can use the leaves in salads and the like and I love using the flowers in ice cubes for Pimm's!

YAY! Borage was one of the plants we sowed for the first time this year but never germinated (or so I thought). Hmm... this is also at the opposite side of the garden to where they were sown.

        Thanks Vikki and RL
