British grown cut flowers

Evening. I love cut flowers in the house and over the years have spent a fortune on them. I have been encouraged over the last few months by a growing group of British Flower growers, to try my out my own cut flower patch. I have had some moderate success . The growers are all active on twitter and meet online for a chat on monday nights at 8 using the hashtag #britishflowers If you want to come and join us please do its very interesting learning from florists amongst others, how .I use the twitter name @Lorraines_Veg . Thanks so much, I can get more seeds next year now, they are so pretty and really do their job, they are constantly covered in bees..

They are lovely!! Let yours go to seed and collect those

Phacelia seeds are tricky to harvest, the plants are supremely prickly. Just leave them to die naturally and they'll seed everywhere by themselves.

A lot of the plants that bees LOVE are ones that you might not want in your cutting garden: brassicas-gone-to-flower, chives, dandelions, clover etc

They especially need food early in the year, well before our cutting flowers are out. Dandelions are very important for this, I always leave them to flower as long as I dare, then collect the "clocks" and bin them so they don't seed everywhere

Thanks for that, i dont mind a dandelion so will try that as well, although I must admit I dont see them very often in my garden
