  • Not impressed! :(

A while ago I posted that i'd gone a bit mad and bought a load of clematis, jasmine and passion flowers from J Parkers. They came I was not happy. They looked like they'd arrived to my house via the Sahara desert. These plants were £8-£12 each! Think if you'd gone to a garden centre and what size you'd get for that price, these looked like I'd rescued from the 50p bargain bin. I phoned and emailed and was told to plant them anyway. I did. They have lived, but my they are spindly, weak excuses for plants One has finally given me a flower - it's the wrong Bl***y plant! I've emailed back and am yet to receive a reply. Nearly £50 I spent, and that is such a lot of money, but I'd done overtime and had decided to spoil myself. I'm so mad. If I'd have gone to the local B&Q (other shops are available) I'd have had a fence full of flowers by now. As an £8-£12 plant is a big plant. I usually buy cheaper, smaller plants, but wanted a big impact and decided to spend more. What a mistake Has anyone else had problems?

They look dreadful. Is that what they were like when they were delivered? What are they like now?

Ancee - This is disgraceful - tell them you want a full refund and an apology or you will be writing to the Judge in the Sunday Mail or whatever the English equivalent is.

You need to write a letter, a real paper letter, to head office. Emails are too easily ignored.

Do you have a QD type shop where you are? They sell good quality clems for £3 each

I wasn't overly-impressed when I ordered from J.Parker myself. A courier van arrived, with a microwave-sized box. Wow, I thought, that's a lot of bulbs, the P&P wasn't so outrageous after all ... only to open it and find 6 tiny little crocus bulbs rattling around in the bottom of the huge box.

You should def get a refund for that! For that money you would expect more healthy plant and less dry, wizened twigs!
They wont do much this year but hopefully you will still get a nice display next year! Not much good now I know!!, (I once bought a Lingonberry via post which turned out to be an unrooted cutting dumped in a pot!!).

Yes vc that's what I received I got a generic email back this morning. Dear mrs p sorry. Can't do an exchange want a refund? No apology worth anything no explanation as to what happened no nothing! I'm getting my OH to phone them he has a way with people. I don't mean that he yells or anything like that but he's just better at communicating than me! I'm just disappointed that I won't get the display I wanted and paid for I'm hoping they'll refund the three clematis the other stuff i'll keep but the clematis are so poor I did say I'd send them back but got no response. I'm not going to order mail order live plants any more this has really put me off. Those glossy brochures lie!!!

Ancee, ask for a refund for the lot. You probably won't have to return anything so if they do survive its a bonus. then take the money and go to a decent garden centre and choose your plants based on what you can see. I'm sure they'll have something comparable to what you wanted.
