  • Identifying plants

    Hi All,

For some reason I never remember to put tags in when I plant things, so I now have a couple of groups of plants and I've completely forgotten what they are!!

Any help identifying would be great.

The first 2 are of the same plant, the 3rd is one that isn't flowering yet.

they look like 'wildflowers' to me . If they were in my garden they would be wildflowers, if on the plot they would be weeds.

Haha, typical!! I asked my mum what the first lot were weeks ago, when they were first establishing. She said that they looked as if they'd been planted in places too intentionally to be weeds, so wait and see!!

Is there any chance the third pic is of Echinaceas?

I think probably not, but I could be wrong, got echinacea seedlings growing for the first time this year and they are very small as yet, not big enough to compare to your photo

The photo isn't that clear, but it looks like red campion from here. We have loads of it in the Wildlife Garden, great bee food but it spreads like crazy if you let it seed.

Rosebay Willowherb has a tall spire of flowers, shaped a bit like a foxglove:

Great willowherb is related, but different from rosebay

Campion has 5 petals, willowherb 4 and a big cross shaped stigma. We call campion "pudding bags".
