  • Roses grow on you!

Morning everyone. A little bit of not veg advice sought from you knowledgable people. To introduce a bit of variety and colour I would like to grow a climbing or rambling rose (what is the difference?) up between two silver birches which are Siamese twins at their bases. I can easily construct a lattice support between the trunks up to about 2 metres. I would prefer a red rose and multiple flowering.

Ramblers tend to be a bit more rampant than Climbers... as to varieties, most of the ones I'd recommend would be wasted as you cant smell them when they're 40' up

    but something like ...

    Clg Constance Spry (Deep Pink)
    Clg Zepherin Droughin (Deep Pink)
Ramb American Pillar (Deep Pink - Single flowers)
    Ramb Pauls Scarlet (Crimson)

my personal favourite is the one on our patio Ferdinand Pichard

can I tempt you with white?

I have a blue & white garden at home (no red, no pink, no yellow). I have climbing Iceberg on all available fence panels, it's phenomenal.
No scent, but omg so many blooms.

It grows in any aspect, north south east or west. Brilliant plant.
