  • Help needed please.

A friend of mine says she would like to know what these plants are? they are taking over her garden, she has tried digging them out but, with no success, they just grow back again, or so she says! They have leaves of varying sizes and very small blue/white flowers.

    Any ideas

It's not comfrey, which has a deep tap root, so she'll need to dig it all out to remove it. Every little scrap of root left in the soil will regenerate

Most gardeners want to grow comfrey, because of its value as a fertiliser, and because bees love it.

Surely the flowers are wrong for comfrey TwoSheds. Have a look at the second photo - more like forget-me-not flowers.

You know, when I opened the OP I thought green alkanet, but then the 2nd photo looked to me like comfrey (I didn't have the light on).

Now I look at it in the light, it obviously isn't Time for Specsavers

I've been pulling this out of my 'Friday' garden for about five years now! I can never remember the name of it, though. It does have a tap-root, and is very difficult to eradicate - even in loose sandy soil.

Green Alkanet, Green Alkanet, Green Alka.. I'll remember it one day!
