    Nice blog.

I also started my sweet peas this afternoon, 4 each of 8 varieties. I used the low-tech method, newspaper tubes of multipurpose:

These will go on the bathroom windowsill (warmest place available!) until they germinate, then into the cold frame until April.

Our sweet peas went in on 16/9 in the greenhouse; 6 seeds of each of 10 varieties. They have all germinated, except for the Everlasting perennial sweet peas, which apparently take longer. We have already repotted 90% of them, they will now go outside protected from frost and in the spring we will sow the same amount again as backups. If we have too many plants we will just give them to friends/family, or put them in the communal garden.
