Got a lovely story about this plant - it is native to america and used as a green manure in various places, which has nothing to do with the story....
I bought a pack of PSB, and when I went to sow it I noticed that the seed didn't look like brassica seed - none the less I went ahead and sowed - and that is the plant that grew!
I couldn't identify it (this was pre-'vine days) so I went to my Botanical artist Mum - who couldn't identify it. So she took the plant to the Chelsea Physic Garden, who eventually did identify it as a phacelia. In the mean time Mum painted a picture of it and exhibited it at the SBA London show - where it sold! So somewhere someone has a painting of a weed that they paid £80 or £100 for and they probably don't know it is a weed! The weeks and the years are fine. It's the days I can't cope with!
