  • Blue mouse ears hostas advice

Hi all, my mum brought me two miniature blue mouse ears hostas for Easter and I was wonder if anyone could tell me the best way to plant them in pots. I have a good bit of shady area in the garden that doesn't get sun all day, so hoping they will like it there

      Hi "Cats"
"Hosta's" being a shade lover, dwelling under deciduous tree's sucking in nutrients from falling leaves are a bit of a semi "Acidic" thriver!

Funny enough! A project I am on this year, needs these "little Beauties" in my design!

I knocked up a growing medium of 1 third ericasious compost, 1 third good garden compost n a third Horticultural grit!

Only done 4 up to press! Another few to do!

The front garden ones need splitting now!

Work don't half get I the away at times!

You will need to protect them from slugs and snails as hostas are one of their favourites. Having thick leaves they may be less susceptible. They can also cope with sun. I have some hostas in pots on my south facing patio. They flower better in sun.
