I sowed some cornflowers and when they were seedlings put them in the shaded side of my garden as there is nothing in there at all and I wanted something colourful in there. They have shot up but have no heads, they have been like this for about 2-3 weeks now. Any ideas?

Cornflowers bloom from about mid-June to August, and Wendy is right, they are field flowers and like open sunshine. In the shade they will probably grow tall and thin, reaching for the light.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

Mine are about to open, any day now: in full sun
for shady spots, you need to choose suitable (shade-loving) plants.
