  • Could this be a daffodil bulb?

My daughter picked this off the daffs in the front garden today. The thin end was where it attached to the stem and the flower sat on the fat end (hope that makes sense!) she asked what it was at its similar to the pears forming on the tree, this got me thinking. It's bulb shape. Where to daffodil bulbs come from?

Could this potentially be dried and planted??

    Any ideas how??

    Thanks

Ah ... maybe it is fairly small? Could be a Daffodil seed head ...

Don't the bulbs form bulblets on the side of the main bulb to form new ones?

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

My first step might be a bit tricky I'm afraid!

you're meant to deadhead them so the plant concentrates on feeding the bulb instead of producing seeds.

The bulb itself (they're underground) will have "daughters" attached to it, which you can dig up and replant to increase your stock

Do I have to break them apart?

Yup. When I have a decent "clump" I dig it up, put one back, and the others "nearby" or wherever I want to have some more.
