Someone posted a lovely photo of their sweet peas, unfortunately it can't find it, thought you might like a laugh when you compare with mine, that are totally out of control.

Like you I go for an assorted mix - they look so much better - but I always grow whites to complement. Colour and scent. Divine.Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.
