  • Wilcos Palm - Indoor or outdoor?

    Hi

Ive just picked up a palm from Wilkos for 50p in the bargain bin, going to try and resurrect it.

Its not come with any growing instructions and im unsure if its meant for indoors or outdoors, is anyone able to take a peek and give any tips on best position and watering routine?

Any advice would be really appreciated as I want to give it the best care I can!

    Many thanks

    SpiritP

It looks like my fan palm that I grew from seed many years ago . . .

    This was May 2012

. . . it stays outside 12 months of the year, even through the snow and really bad frost we had a few years ago.

Could be Washingtonia filifera which is fairly hardy.

I'd grow it on in the sun during summer but give it some protection for the first few winters....maybe a bit of fleece or put it in an unheated greenhouse.
