  • Has anybody else seen this?

My Mum, (An avid newspaper article clip sender!) Has just sent me this. I have these in my garden and have done since I sowed them in a seed mix last year. I saved the seeds and have loads again this year. They are lovely but are they deadly? Also, rare? I have thousands!

You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

I'm an official nutter - an official 'cropper' of a nutter! I am sooooo pleased to be a cropper! Hurrah!

I've grown them before from seed, never realised it was poisonous.

        Daily Mail, I guess
Don't panic unless you intend to eat it! There are lots of plants we all grow that shouldn't be eaten.
        Have a look at these:-

Oh goodness, I gave a load of corncockle seeds to the VSP - didn't realise they had a health warning (though I'd have to challenge the sentence that 'just touching a flower could knock a rambler out'.... I've picked them many times and never had any side effects).

On the subject of dangerous plants, I managed to get some euphorbia sap onto my gardening glove today and a few minutes later rubbed my eye without thinking. Ouch!! A very quick dash to the water tap, hopefully haven't done any lasting damage but it did sting a lot.

I saw the article in the Daily Wail too. No doubt the flowers will bring on armageddon or something.
When weeding, the best way to make sure you are removing a weed and not a valuable plant is to pull on it.
If it comes out of the ground easily, it is a valuable plant.
