September colour

I've been working on the garden for the last few days and I just love some of the plants that are flowering now but I'm looking for some a Autumn colour. What's brightening up your garden this month?

They are Helenium, sneezewort. Very easy to grow in a sunny border and they come back every year.

Love the Dahlias, reminds me of my grandads formal garden

They look fabulous.

For me at the moment it's nice to see the grapes colouring up:

Like you, I have rudbeckia and that outdoor fuchsia flowering.
I also have this fuchsia
yarrow (which has been flowering since the end of May)
pink geranium
and musk mallow

Then there's
feverfew
alyssum
nicotiana
a stray sunflower

The Michaelmas daisies are in bud, but always flower later than average as the garden faces north

And finally, a new plant this year, heuchera. I love it. It is growing happily in the shade, has lovely long lasting deep pink flowers that the bees love, and silvery leaves.

Lovely Mothhawk. I've tried several varieties of heuchera, they never make it through the winter. Love the nicotiana though, did you grow it from seed? I've just had a quick gaggle and there are loads of different varieties.

What are those yellows one in the top GG, they're lovely?

Gaillardia, they have been flowering for months now, and look lovely (I've deadhead them since the pic!).
I liked them so much I'm going to get a red coloured one for next year as its all a bit yellow at the moment (I have five yellow plants)

It's a nice sunny afternoon so I had a quick walk round the garden with my phone camera.

Fuchsia "Hawkshead" is looking good:



In the rockery, this little thing - I think it's a kind of Penstemon but I've lost the label - is having its second flowering alongside the seedheads from the first attempt:



Feverfew too is having an Autumn burst of enthusiasm:



These Gazanias have been planted for 18 months. In our sheltered wall they came through the winter without being frosted!
