This year I have grown a few Mongolian Giant and some generic Sunflowers for a bit of fun. I am pleased to report that we enjoyed some tall plants with big heads.
They are now looking a little sorry for themselves. I would like to harvest some of the seeds (I will also be allowing the birds a share) for eating/cooking and a few seeds to use next year.
So far, I have only dealt with one generic flower. I have found that the seeds are quite large compared to the kernel inside - is this normal?
Does it matter which seeds are kept for next year?
Thank you!
