When you find the root put a collar round it like a section of a drinks bottle or cut up flower pot then you'll not be able to hoe it.

Is this going to be easy to move? I really want to move the blackberry that it's scrambling up. If it's going to be hard work I'll leave the clematis and blackberry where they are.

No I wouldn't have thought so. Now is a good time to do it. Just dig as big a rootball as you can. When you replant, replant 10cm or so deeper than it was. This means if it gets clematis wilt it will reshoot from below the soil. Some varieties are more prone than others, but I can't tell from your photo which it is. Quite hungry plants so will thank you for a bit of compost or manure.
