I've got one tiny sprig of pulmonaria flowering, plus winter honeysuckle and a winter clematis which is actually disappointing - it only has one or two flowers, and I had hoped it would be covered like summer clematis.

The winter honeysuckle is favourite, for its scent - glorious. Pictures later when the fog and frost clears, it's too cold and murky right now

    Endless wonder.

Here's the winter honeysuckle. It has tiny flowers, only about 1cm across, but much loved by early bumbles.
Then the battery died on my camera. Got it on charge now, so the other pics tomorrow if it doesn't rain too much.

My Flower of the Month has to be the early Crocus. Harbinger of spring!

I'm really looking forward to contributing to this thread, but literally have no flowers out at the moment, not even a single snowdrop. Hopefully something will appear within the next fortnight.

Today I noticed a winter aconite, a few snowdrops just showing white, and in the brief splash of sunshine, 3 yellow crocus out.

Dunno where I've been cos I missed this (this new router doesn't seem to work through thick rubble stone walls either ) but I'll get some photos of the few welcome flowers in my garden tomorrow.

Here's my January offering. No runners-up I'm afraid, these little violas are the only thing flowering for me at the moment (though the rainbow chard in the background is great for winter colour instead).

                Hopefully more choice next month....

My flower of the month is 3 cornered leek/garlic, the little bells are so pretty

Runners up are the winter-flowering jasmine on the front of the house and the little campanulas self-seeded up the stone steps out the back

(0h dear, still can't work out how to flip them the right way up! )

Pictures are not in the right order, sorry.

Hellibore orientalis, I love the ones with the spotty throats, Hamenalis molis, the perfume is wonderful, Viburnam tinus, I rarely get it to flower. Finally double snowdrops, they are the only flower that is native to this bit of ground. Survived all the building and being run over by lorries, dug up at the wrong time of year and they are multiplying!

I can't take any photo My garden hasn't nothing but boring shrubs more shurbs, grass and more shurbs! We've taken most of them out down the left hand side of the garden. Just left with quite a large area running along side the oak tree.

I look forward to adding some photos in the next coming months.

I must add, roitelet that Hellibore Orientalis is so beautiful!

My garden is open and seems to live in a frost pocket even though I'm in the South west flowers often come out later.

My helibores in the garden that faces South
These are in the front facing North - walled on 3 sides

They are gorgeous but the flowers look down rather than up so that they are not always noticed. Easy plants to grow though - very good for the areas that are shady as they flower when there's not much greenery around.
