this is my flower for August the tree lilly, all the blooms are from one stem, and the perfume from it is unbelievable
and the runner up is crocosmia Lucifer which was my FotM last month the show that this has made all month is fantastcit may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.

My runners up for August are both climbers - the orange thunbergia, which is just starting to flower, and the sweet peas which I'm surprised to find are still going strong (they're usually dying from mildew by now).
My flower of the month is campanula persicifolia...a bit of a cheat, because it was one of my runners up last month. But having deadheaded all the individual flowers, it's now re-blooming (I'm wondering if I deadhead these flowers, will I get a third bloom)Comment

It's getting colder now but for some Autumn colour you can't beat rudbeckia. These ones have been in the ground for about three years. They are lovely.Comment

I have these growing behind my greenhouse and i call them monbretia but they are not in bloom at the moment. Maybe yours are crocosmia.
I'm sure someone will enlighten us. ☺

I call them montbretia too, I think crocosmia and montbretia are the same thing. I have lots of them everywhere, I love them.The best things in life are not things.Comment

That statement is a contradiction. Of course it blooms in October, otherwise I wouldn't be able to take this pic.
I will rephrase, this is not a plant that is associated with Otober.

Cyclamen neapolitanum.
Some of these corms are over 30 years old and they have spread themselves around the garden, though I do give them a helping hand by picking some seed pods and scattering the seed about
