Sowing an Alphabet of Flowers

First, a confession
I have hundreds of packets of flower seeds, can't resist buying them but sowing them seems to take a back seat to the veggie seeds. There are 2 biscuit tins full of flower seeds. Many are old and probably well past their prime (I know the feeling!)

I have a plan, a cunning plan, to make myself grow them. I've sorted the seeds into alphabetical order and today I will sow some A seeds. Tomorrow it will be B, and "sow" on until I reach Z, then I start again.

Bonkers, I know, but I just can't help myself sometimes

I am exactly the same as you VC, veg seem to take precedence over flowers but I just can't help myself buying seeds thinking "this year I'll have some flowers".

I was thinking of just putting them all together to make a sort of flower meadow but, after about 6 years I still haven't managed to prepare any ground so I'll probably be joining you - great idea

Welcome, Rhonsal I'll be missing out a few letters too - like X. May have to combine a few of the odd letters at the end of the Alphabet.
I've just filled 6 Strip trays that fit into a seed tray - and I'm going to sow 6 different A flowers later.
Feeling quite positive about this and it gives me an excuse to rummage through my seeds again.

Aquilegia ex. Elegance. Golden leaves, almost black flowers 2012

Well, I have nowhere to put 20 odd seed trays indoors so I'll have to wait until March, when some can be sown under cloches outdoors.

(Except heliotrope, which says sow indoors, February. Never grown it before, so I'll follow instructions and sow it this weekend - aitch begins with "a" after all....)

If you sow six different varieties every day for every viable letter of the alphabet, by the end of March, you'll have about 120 trays of seedlings that all need planting or pricking out not counting any veg seeds You are going to be sooooo busy in April, VC!

Most of these seeds are visiting the Last Chance Saloon as you can see from the dates when they were bought.
I doubt that many of them will germinate. They have until I reach A again to show themselves. If nothing I'll resow into the same tray because I'll be starting Sowing the Alphabet again then
