I grew a teasel once - thought I'd grow my own bird seed - when I came to remove it, as it was too huge for the spot it was in, the root went down forever, great thick thing like a tree

This thread is becoming a real education. Had to look up Omphalodes linifolia - one more I've not come across before, and with another wonderful common name - Venus' navelwort. A member of the huge boraginaceae family.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land
Endless wonder.

Part 2 - Starting again in 2017
Since I have even more flower seeds than I did when I started this thread in 2015, I'm going to start again - at the very beginning - with an A
My plan is to sow an Alphabet of Flowers every month, starting on January 1st 2017. That will give me a couple of days off each month to catch up with pricking out etc.
When I tried this in 2015, most of the seeds were past their best and many didn't germinate. This time I'm going to sow at least 1 in date packet a day to give me a chance
Anyone else want to join in? You don't need a full alphabet, just join in with whatever you have!

I've got A - P but nothing for I,I don't have Q,R,T,U,V,X,Y & Z but I've a couple of sweet pea varieties that I'l sow through those days because they're mostly letters surrounding 'S' but for X,Y & Z I'l carry on with the wildflower mixture I'm using for 'w' so 6 days of sweet peas & 4 days of wildflower seeds,it's looking alright on paper, some seeds are a tiny bit out of date but we'll see how it goesLocation : Essex
