Can I hard-prune a Senecio/Brachyglottis?

Ok, yes I know I can hard-prune it (them) lol, but are they likely to survive, re-sprout, or are they more likely to just look awful! Or die?

There are two at a client's garden, and they've really outgrown their sites, and look very straggly. We have pruned after flowering before, but they really need more than that.

Thats a good site that Greenleaves put up G4, but any plant that you are not happy with due to size or shape should be cut back to what you want, if it growes back you can clip it to keep it under control, but if it dies, you have lost nothing as you are unhappy with it as it is

My customer likes the garden to look as perfect as possible, all the time, so drastic pruning isn't always an option, and some jobs get left, as there's so much to do there. The house-owner is a non-gardener, and has a team of 'minions' who are told to 'cut back and tidy for the winter' so we seem to spend half our time trying to salvage mis-pruned plants.

Yes you can cut right back. I've done it several times and you get a nice neat mound of fresh leaves. A good feed and water at the time obviousl y will aid recovery. For the plant not owner.

Wendy, a good drink (but not water) might help the owner view it differently
