Are the red things flower buds or berries? -

I don't think it's a dogwood but I may be wrong, I've got a variegated dogwood and it flowers in Spring and it has red branches, this doesn't. I'm pretty sure the red are flower buds. I will check in the AM.Originally posted by veggiechicken View PostComment

It's been chucking it down all day
!
Though I'm sure it's a flower bud, been meaning to plant it for weeks, I thought it was dead and then it sprung into life so Im 80% sure it's not berries. I've trawled through a load of shrub photos last night and i still haven't got a clue.Comment

Might this be it? The leaves are very similar. And maybe those buds will look like it when they open.

Dogwood

It's not a dogwood, close together they really are different. The red stuff is a cluster of flower buds ready to open. Will take a pic when it does, though as I snapped half the plant I'm not 100% it's going to live yet!
