I planted these last year, loads of rust on them
though they produced flowers all summer and the bees loved them 
I cut them down to the base after collecting the seeds, though I think that if I'd cut them back when the basial growth had started appearing - Rather than leaving them to produce seeds - They would have all produced a 2nd flowering, currently 2 out of 7 have flowered.
