Found a vine weevil on this orchid about 2 months ago. Got rid of him and a nice new leaf started to grow, now something has been chomping it! Does that mean that it wasn't the vine weevil,but something else? I've had a good look at the plant but can't see any beasties lurking!

Did you check for lavae after evicting the weevil Jay ? Although it doesn't look like the normal irregular damge expected from a weevil.
Only other thought, could a slug/snail have got to it somehow ? if none easily visible try standing the plant pot in a saucer of stale beer for a couple of days
