Hello flower growers

I have a number of volunteer daffodils and what I believe are blue bells shooting up. I need to dig the area and if I dig up the bulbs will they survive or will they just be exhausted. I don't intend to replant them somewhere else?

Sorry, I don't understand the question. You say you don't want to plant them anywhere else so how can they survive dug up?

Do you mean you intend to put them back in the same place but in a few days/ weeks?

Can you plant them in pots/ tubs/carrier bags just for now?

You right it was not very clear... Not the sherry me being thick. I need to clear the area but was wondering if I lifted the bulbs and allowed the greenery to die off would they be viable next year or should I just chuck them?

I don't think they will be any good after a year out of the ground. Bin them or stick them in a pot.

They being a "Bulb" Will have already taken in the "Nutriants" needed for sprouting next year! "In the Green" as they put it!

If they're already in the green then they'll have used some of their stored nutrients up out the bulbs but not had chance to replenish them by doing a full cycle. If you want to save them you really do need to replant. If you don't have any available ground then pots would be OK.

You could lift them as a clump, and than as Nicos said put it into a poly bag then put them somewhere out of you way until you can replant, as you are in Hampshire make sure that they are kept moist, (where I stay that is not a major problem) and put one or two holes near the base of the bag, and dont forget that a lot of poly bags deteriorate in sunlight
