Do I have to harden off a out door plant again?

    Do I have to harden off a out door plant again?

    I bought a fatsia a few weeks ago and kept it in the kitchen as the ground was still frozen and I liked the look of it.

    I brought it out side today and it started to droop, its back in now and looks fine. Is this because I need to harden it off again?

      Once it's started to grow in the warmth of your kitchen you'll need to harden it off. If you'd left it outside it would only be starting to grow about now.

      I like Fatsia too, must get one.

        Hardening off takes a couple of weeks of putting plants out and bringing them in again.
        Its not a one day jobby!

            It's always best to do it properly otherwise you risk putting it into shock.

            Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

              You should harden off all plants that are purchased in a G.C. as they are usualy grown/displayed in sheltered areas and by hardening off you let the plant get used to your garden area
              it may be a struggle to reach the top, but once your over the hill your problems start.
