Sorry, Ms-T, it was just too good to resist. I've had them grow from birdfood, they're like regular sunflowers, but don't grow much above 6 feet, in my garden at least, and have one big flower per stem.
I buy sunflower hearts now, without shells, for the birds, and the dropped ones seem to grow just as happily as the seeds still in their shells, and if anyone is wondering, sunflower hearts make stripey seed.
comes in big bag from that shop .any one know would they would look like when they flower.i got lots growing.
What is the weight of the bag please? I get mine by the 20kg on eBay.
Had a 6'+ sunflower from cockatiel mix which has striped seed. Also had a c@nn@bis plant from bird seed, nice foliage plant which eventually shredded and composted.
