Looking to fill a gap

Good morning, hope you guys can help I have a exposed area ( or gap) around the edge of my garden. I would like to fill the space with some kind of bush type plant. I have know idea of what to buy here are some key points,
1- must be hardy (aberdeen climate)
2- must flower over the summer
3- spread to fill a gap around 3 foot wide (over time)
4- not be too much maintenance or difficult to grow

Hope I'm not asking too much any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

How about these for a beautiful and productive gap filler. I gave one to my mum the other week and although it isn't flowering, it is a mass of beautiful leaves of the freshest green. When it becomes studded with fruit it will be just stunning (and delicious)

Can you tell us a bit more.

Is the gap sunny or in shade?
Do you know what type of soil?
Is the soil regularly water logged?
How mich wind does it get?
How tall do you want it to grow to?
How quick do you want to fill the gap?
Does it have to be able to keep out local animals (sheep, children, etc)?
Why summer flowering only?
How many Smarties does it take to fill the whole of Wembley?
What's either side of the gap?
What other plants are growing around the gap?

Not just the stadium but all of it - including the tube station (I did as Smarties - they didn't know)

How about a Pea Tree/bush. There's different types but the one most people will think of is the Siberian. Is that better or worse than Aberdeen?

Why don't you try one of the hydrangeas, if one is suitable they bulk up quite well. But I would say they need shelter from cold winds
