    Sorry, just read your blog and thought it easier to post here. If you don't like the smell of geraniums is it worth you considering scented ones? there are absolutely loads but I appreciate some plants of childhood will haunt you forever regardless. I always disliked tulips as all I ever knew was the red ones with black centres that were outlined in yellow and they were on mass

      Heucheras also work well in pots, there's not much to the flowers but they like a bit of shade and come in some fantastic colours (semi-evergreen too) I've got a few in containers as they don't mind not getting watered.

        ^^^check the roots when you buy. I bought one at my old house and that was the first I learnt of vine weevil as I introduced it to the entire garden

        Edit: They are fab plants though so don't be put off.

            You underestimate me, BM Its 680 begonias

            Sorry to suggest geraniums that you can't bear the stink of Scented leaf ones are lovely - lemon, rose etc and you can use them in cooking!
