Sorry rary you're going to have to offer something considerably stronger than tea to con me into planting up all your plug plants. And just to be really picky the sweet cakey thing would have to be chocolate based

Sorry rary, can't come to see you. My passport's expired.
Its a pity we're not all nearer as we could do a swap. I'm praying I don't have more begonias

Your wife can "dead you"? How come you're still here then

Anyway, sounds like we've bought up nearly all the plugs as I've had a "last chance to buy" email. Do they really think I want more plugs?

I got that email as well so did other half and he didn't sign up for emails ( he did order them though because the website wouldn't let me, it was having a moment )

I've had a quick count up of multi cell trays. It's all good just need the plants now. I've even got space for them all ( don't know how that happened)
I hope the different types are labelled because I won't have a clue . The way I do none veggie gardening is pretty flowers, tall flowers, climbing flower, hanging......... You get the idea

Are there really only 3 plug nutter on this very large forum? I don't believe it !!!

The word should have been Read, though the trouble I give her and the telling off that I get (usually on a daily bases) I some times wonder.

while out today (again I let my wife pay for lunch, I will need to ask her for some money so that I can pay) I bought some multi cell trays enough for 800 plugs got them for £10.00, so with buying the plants and trays thats me skint, which means I will be unable to buy anyone a drink when the G.R. re-opens , and I was hoping to get one for everybody

I knew I should've got another bag of compost when I was on the mainland.

I'm feeling a lot more relaxed about the whole thing today, because I know there not going to get delivered today . Tomorrow the excitement and anticipation will start again

I wish I could join you guys but OH would go ballistic I already have far too many seedlings in the green house and the cold frames I will build up supplies gradually this year and sneak them in next year (if they repeat the offer)

Whenever I've bought plug plants before I've put them into 9cm pots straight away. Will you plant them out straight from the modules. I only have about 400 9cm pots

Bal are you admitting to being a plug nutter

I'm going to plant them into 20 cell trays then put them in cold frame/ mini greenhouse thing for a few days Till they get used to there new home. Then outside to harden off ( that will be the tricky bit finding space outside). Then plant.

I'm guessing the plugs they come in are quite small as VC only got 4 trays when her 680 begonias turned up.
I'm sure VC will put us on the right track as she is a pro plug nutter

Go on Bal - you know you want to
My "reasoning" for buying so many is............I'd probably pay a fiver for a tray of ?12 plants at a G - so 4 trays = £20. If I can raise more than 4 x 12 plants I've won
Please, don[t spoil my illusions by telling me you can get cheaper/more plants for £20 'cos I'm not listening
The plugs are small. You can see at #18 that 180 plugs fitted into a large seed tray. I potted mine into hatever larger module I could find and they're still in them. Most of them are outside now, hardening off. They're probably big enough to plant into baskets, containers but I'd rather leave them a while longer.
