Are the leaves soft? Could it be a quince?

The leaves are like slightly larger cranberry leaves if that helps.

Just wanted to let you know. I am pretty sure it is a variegated willow (the variegated leaves have only started showing this week).

              Thank you all

                      What a lovely surprise!
                      I'd never gave guessed that!

We used to go to plant auctions a few years ago and come back with trays of things we never knew we wanted and had to gooogle them when we got home!
Poor car used to stagger home under the weight!
The skill was stacking them all without rushing the tray below!
Good job we didn't have a trailer back then!

Does anyone know what this is - flower, wildflower or (more probably) weed?

It's appeared from nowhere and seems to have spread quite a few feet. The leaves are clover shaped, but feel velvety. The flowers are like minature pom poms, quite cute really. Unless it's a really invasive weed I'll just leave it be.

Thanks Martin, that's exactly what it is. Makes sense that it's just appeared too, I remember there was Trefoil in some of the mixed green manure I sowed.

It's a pretty thing so I'll leave it.
