        that is exactly what I am trying to avoid!!!

        I am finding very conflicting information on the net....

        What about polyanthus lunar gold??? could I leave that in?!

        And the other one is Dianthus....

          Can you obtain Gazanias? They are fantastic. They flower year after year, all you have to do is to dead head them.

            Polyanthus and dianthus will be OK overwinter!

              You could grow the hardy cranesbill geraniums. They won't need to be dug up every year except to split them. Come in pink, blue, magenta and white and grow about a foot high.
