Well the wind has been playing havoc , I rescued these.
CG, they are just so pretty! I love the colours. You've inspired me to start growing flowers. Don't know the first thing about them though!! Apart from I have some daffodils in the garden .....

Martin you inspired me this morning
So I went for a walk round garden, veggie patch and field,
This is the result
can't claim to of grown any of these, apart from the sage flowers.
So we've got foxglove, buttercup, sage, crainsbill, elder, red campion, yellow poppy and fuchsia.
Martin and Small Pumpkin - beautiful displays.. Again ...
As mentioned before, never grown flowers before (only pushed daff bulbs in here & there..) and was inspired at how lovely your flowers looked ...
So, wanting to plant for the bees too, sowed an old pack of mixed berry cornflower seed that I'd had for years from somewhere. Also some cosmos, nasturtiums and pot marigolds.
Now, none have got flowers on (yet..?) but all germinated really well and have been planted out in the last couple of days. (Cornflower just today)
Am excited about seeing them bloom!
I see you have sage, SP - I think this is what I have in my herb bed ..?
Looks like sage to me susieG.
I left most of the flower spikes on the plants because bees like them and I'm hoping to collect seed from them.
Aaah, thanks SP, was going to ask that question! So after the seeds have been collected (do you leave them on the plant until the flower head is brown/dry) do you cut the dead flower off then?

I would leave them on the plant. Till the seed heads have gone brown and dried. Check them regularly so you don't lose all the seeds when they come off the plant naturally.
