Cut Flowers 2016

Martin where do you find all the space to grow all those flowers?

I use allotment space that ought really to be used for edibles.

My 4th vase - cornflowers (thank you Thelma Sanders), lavender, sweet williams, achillea, chrysanth crazy daisy.

I don't know this plant. The flowers look like a mallow but I haven't seen one with divided foliage like that. Maybe it's Malva alcea or Malva excisa. But whatever they are, they are lovely.

I grow this - well, it grows itself really, I just let it be. It's musk mallow, malva moschata. it's not a weed but a "hardy native British perennial"

A malva sylvestris (I think) appeared on my allotment this year - has the same flower as SusieG's but a different leaf shape. It's very pretty, but has grown to around 5 foot and is in the middle of a veg bed. I'll have to try to relocate it.

I am so chuffed and amazed these flowers are all out of the garden. Can't wait till next year when (fingers crossed) I have more flowers going. These are for 4 members of staff at preschool.

Strange year for flowers - my sweet peas have only just started blooming in earnest, seems so late. Whereas it feels a bit early for the crocosmia Lucifer.

Vase 5 (sort of) There were only 3 to cut and one had to be cut as it had fallen over.

It must be lovely to say that The only survivor of all my sweet peas is a very lonely Wiltshire ripple and all the flowers are staying on for seed (and yes they are your seed from the VSP - ty )
