Sadly I have no other option as I had to raise the beds. Looks like the tree is on it's way out then. I will probably replace it in the winter with the Hawthorn I have growing in a pot buried under the soil (to stop it rooting) that has become very big.
I just thought that as long as it's roots are under the soil it would be ok. Tomatoes can be buried very deep as well as some other plants.
Well it looks like after a lush, healthy start to the tree it has started to drop mottled, leaf minor leaves yet again. I had hope this time as it looked so nice. Can�t be a root depth problem otherwise it wouldn�t recover so well in early spring and be so healthy. Gutted as I picked up all the fallen leaves last year and gave an early spraying with organic seaweed solution in water.
