Ornamental cherry tree leaf fall again

Every spring my cherry tree looks stunning when it comes out in leaf and then, around this time the leaves fall with horrible rusty coloured marks resulting in the tree looking a mess until Autumn when it sheds properly.

Every year the same and I have no idea what it is or what is causing it. Can anyone help please ? My garden must hold the record for every kind of pest and desease.

It could be cherry leaf spot? I'm not sure....I would make sure you pick up all the leaves that drop and burn them.

I will be here all day if I do that but will try and get as many as I can. Alot are falling into my raised bed.

I try to pick up all the leaves off my two conker trees.they both have leaf miner problem...oneof them is nearly 70ft tall I pick up lots of leaves, it takes more than a day. It does help, and it's worth a shot.

From that link :"For leaf spot, collection and destruction of fallen leaves will reduce the amount of fungus available for infection the following year. Removal of shrivelled leaves affected by leaf scorch would have the same effect, but is not usually feasible"

I will add that there are a lot of leaves with some kind of miner patterns.

Burn as many leaves as you can, or bag up and tie in a knot - it hasn't completely stopped my leaf miner problem but it has reduced it.

Well after clearing all the fallen leaves last season, spraying the healthy leaves with seaweed twice earlier this spring I thought I may have give it a good, healthy start but they are now starting to fall with the same symtoms. Sould destroying

I'm wondering if it's a type of phytophera. Cherry family is very susceptible. I had a small ornamental cherry which got brown crispy leaves a short while after flowering, it also got canker on the stems. I just ripped it out in the end.

Would it be possible to post photographs of some leaves (close up as well) + tree?

I posted this earlier but it seems to have disappeared. Anyway, the soil level around the tree has been raised in the last few years (5 housebricks higher ) covering the trunk as I wanted the borders higher for sunlight. The tree was quite established so couldn't raise that too. That corner of the border has always been very dry due to being sheltered from rain by the tree.

Are you saying that you have piled soil up around the trunk and buried the graft that should be above soil level?

The soil level has been raised about 2 foot from the ground around the tree trunk.
