Herb/flower Bed

Planted my 'Something Nice for Me, Something Nice for the Bees' bed this morning :

I have : 5 x Poppy 'Ladybird'
1 x Borage
1 x Rosemary
1 x Chive
And have sown (well thrown in) some Cornflower seed 'Crown Blue' all inbetween everything.

Hope it'll keep the bees happy, eventually!

You know what Jay, I have some seeds for Chive -somewhere - I could give them a go and see what happens ...!

That's great you are thinking of the bees but you gain also. Throughout my garden I'm always thinking of the bees so I've lots of lupins, foxgloves etcetra. I have 12 ladybird poppy plants growing and two have already a fat bud each showing amongst the leaves. I planted these poppies because I love them but I didn't realise bees did too, so that's a bonus. I planted a whole packet of cornflower seeds earlier in the year and the best of these are showing buds. Bees really are in trouble so it's nice to have a coffee in the garden and hear and see lots of bees around the lupins and foxgloves which are in their prime at the moment. Unlike other areas we have had two sweltering weeks so far and I'm watering the garden twice a day or should I say a good soaking. The poor Labrador who like Montys Labradors in Gardeners world loves to follow me about, but she ends up so hot she is forced to retire to the cold kitchen floor.
