So far, no luck, but will do search.

Scarlet can I please have the original pixels of your image, just need to make sure that the 0.2 resizing ratio is roughly correct. If not, then the forum is resizing images differently and we can try to get to the bottom of this.

Need original pixels from Scarlet and VC! Thank you!

ps: the calculation is very simple if you want to do it, to find the rescaling ration, just divide the width of the forum uploaded image (after uploading) i.e. w=905 pixels in my case, by the original width of the image, i.e. w=5344 in my case, this gives 0.169 which is rounded to 0.2 scaling ratio. It's just a percentage. In images usually they rescale width and height by a percentage, so that's my logic. The height and the width of the image is rescaled by the same amount (rounding numbers).

My photo, as stored on the computer, is 1280 x 960 pixels and is 478 Kb
It was uploaded as 100.9 Kb.
Not a clue what the pixels are!

Probably the easiest resolve is to buy a cheap digital camera (a fraction of the price of ianything) & use it for forum pictures, all things @pple are designed to only work properly on other @pple devices, they even need to use emoticons dedicated to their own devices

testing image and then reporting calculations, the forum seems to have a dynamic resizing ratio.

                  Right, I think I have a suggestion!

VC your image seems to have been edited, its not exactly landscape. I also tested an edited image of mine, I had cropped and resized it and what I found is that the forum rescaled my edited images and VC's image at a much better and smaller ratio. VC's is rescaled by 0.6, and mine that was more square was rescaled at 0.8. So the forum dynamically adjusts the ratio.

Here is my suggestion! Cheops, take one of your landscape images, i.e. the original one we tested, place it in an editor i.e. an app, crop it to slightly more square and rescale it to about 1000 px width, save it and upload in the forum. I just want to see if the forum will readjust its ratio for your ipad images after they have been edited. It might be a case that as Scarlet suggested you have to modify i.e. crop and even resize your images quickly using an app before uploading, so that the forum can read the EXIF and meta data correctly.

                  Fingers crossed!

                  Lets see!

Thank you Susie! I have the rotation problem too, and I feel that it is a matter of tricking the forum into reading the meta data correctly by editing the images before uploading. And it seems that the more square the image is cropped like and possibly (need to test this) the less size it is, the less scaling it undergoes.

Here is the photo again slightly cropped. I don't know how to rescale the pixel width. What app could I use?

Aw!!!! These are gorgeous VC! I think the dynamic function in rescaling is because the forum modifies the images so that they fit in the browser when viewed, so possibly there is a fixed size; Width and Height values that determines the rescaling ratio. The more square an image is, the better it fits these specifications and the less is rescaled.

Hi, Cheops, editing did not fix it :-( Maybe rescaling will, worth a try, can check for an app later, any resizing editor. Will have to look later, have to run to Uni now!
