It is an iOS problem...you will all be running versions higher than 8.

The slight cropping of the photo only helps to stop the images rotating...nothing to do with size - it's just a quick work around. There is a link somewhere that explains why apples pics can get uploaded rotated/upside down...

        Can you explain?
There are two issues here - uploading quality/size on newer versions of IOS.

Or uploading a photo with the image being rotated?

Cropping an image only ensures that your photo is uploaded the correct way up.

What is the test Susie? An iPad image from a new IOS Version saved onto a computer and then uploaded?

I'll try the editor Ryez is suggesting and submit a photo as a test.
Cropping only ensure your photo is uploaded the correct way up - not upside down or on its side.
The small size photo has something to do with the new IOS version that you are running on your iPad.

Uploaded via the "older" versions of IOS ensures the pic is larger.

Well done Scarlet. You have proved newer versions of IOS are causing a size problem. Thx for all your efforts. Let's hope admin can get round this problem now it has been identified.

                      Good afternoon all,

This issue with the photos have been around for a while since updates of some phone software.
We have looked in to this issue and can not find a solution as of yet.
I understand this does not make it easy to identify/view images on the forum. We will be looking in to ways to solve this and improve the image uploads to the forum, as it is not the easiest.
                      Thanks
                      H

Thanks Hannah, that is all we can ask and are grateful you are all working to resolve this issue.

                          Thanks Hannah!

Scarlet... I hadn't realised cropping only changed the rotation issue. I can't remember whether this worked when I did my test.

It must be something to do with the images (or whatever technical term rylez used - meta data?) rather than just the iOS as I usually upload mine to my laptop, rather than directly from the device, and they're still tiny

                            It's not the image.
My post #82 uses Cheops photo(3rd photo).
When he uploads using IOS9 the photo is small, when I use the same photo (emailed to me) uploaded via IOS7 it uploads with a full size screen.

Nothing worked :-( the alternative is to upload the image to an external website and paste the hotlink here. If that works.

Go to the tree icon as always, click "From URL". You just need to copy paste the url and untick the retrieve blah blah box I guess.

the url is easy to get:

                                Go to https://postimage.org/
                                Select resize for message board.
                                Upload image.
It generates many links. Choose direct, if you click the icon it will copy paste.
Paste URL in the Box here. Click ok.
You can also use hotlinks directly without using the upload image box at all. Just copy paste the hotlink directly, I guess.

Hope it worked, did from phone.

Maybe the image wont become tiny this way... Its a shot!

You can also attach direct links to thumbnails.
