Just to cheer you up Marb...
We had to have the first of our broccoli today as it's bolted and the flowers have started opening.
They were well washed and caterpillars duely removed...then quickly blanched .
Just as the water started its rolling boil, there must have been about 10 caterpillars floating to the surface.

I've never seen so many butterflies flirting with each other...clearly more babbies are on the way...Hmmph.

      Muggy?.....yup we're getting that too.

      Yum.

Absolutley cannot understand how chilli and soapy water will not touch the @+%€$. Again, EVERY leaf, flowe and stem is crawling with them. And yet again it's still humid, windy and muggy. so demoralising as I use so much of it in salads. Too much work and damage to leaf getting them off. Jets of water do not shirt them.

...... nasturtiums, cosmos and marigolds all covered with blackfly - none elsewhere .... runners haven't been touched, so growing them as bait has worked well for me .... - unfortunate for you guys who are growing them to eat ......
