Sambucus Nigra

I recently bought a Sambucus Nigra (Black Elder) for its leaves and pink flowers. On arrival I potted it up into a 7 inch pot.

It didn't have a lot of leaves to start with but now its dropped the lot!

I've contacted the seller thinking that surely it should have held its leaves until the autumn and hopefully added a few more?

Does anyone have one of these, and has it still got leaves?

I have one - but its 70 miles away so can't tell you about its leaves! Anyway, it should behave like a common elder and mine is fruiting and has leaves although they're looking a bit yellow now.

Have a friend with one & today it was in full leaf looking great

Result..............I've contacted the supplier and explained the problem. He is going to send me a replacement but told me not to bin the other one as it may survive the winter and grow again!

I have one in the front garden and looking out at it it would appear to be producing new leaves just now on three or four branches, new leaves are green they darken with age.

I have - it's looking lovely at the moment. I also have a yellow one which has all its leaves.
