Long shot on flower id please

Yes we already know I am a tool - I really should have a pic, but unfortunately I don't

In my friends garden there is a really nice flowering plant but they don't know what it is. I just thought there might be a skinny, skinny chance if I describe it some one might think it sounds like something they have come across. (I can always hope)

So starting from the bottom if you think of a lime green/yellow heuchara - not so much the leaf shape but the size of leaf and just that low rounded mound. Then out of that are slim (a few mm round) stems going up 2-3ft with a single pink cosmos like flower.

They are perennial and are growing in full sun and seem drought tolerant as they are in a 10cm gap between the house and a path and are not watered.

Any ideas?

A Japanese anemone?

Well done, Thelma. I was struggling with this one!
I have a clump of pink Japanese Anenomes, in a shady patch beneath a tree. Once established they spread quite quickly. Love them and wouldn't be without them. There are white ones too................must get some

^^^Oo, glad to hear they will do well in shade. Still don't know where I will put them but I will def. try and pinch some.

You can get pretty double ones as well. I love the seed heads to - like little balls of cotton wool.

The only other one I can think of is a Geum which can be red orange and yellow. not sure if any other colours. If you look up pictures of Japanese anemone and geum you may recognise it.

^^^TY. I am familiar with geum so can rule that out. From googling it is def. Japenese anemone but I can't find the exact one.

If it is a Japanese Anemone beware some are rather invasive.
