You can never have too many Spring bulbs.

Can never have enough bulbs as far as I'm concerned - I planted 10 kilos of mixed daffs in one bed yesterday & need to get some more for another border! Depends how big an area you're covering though.

Susie! One can never have enough of one plant let alone another!

But one has to "Draw a line" at some point, I such as many others could drain my "Bank Accout as to what I want rather than what I need, so be careful, it's an hobby not an necessity!

Bulbs are an investment that pay you dividends every year. You won't get that if you leave your money in a sock under the mattress

Erm...... lots! Filled a bed about 14 feet long , 3 feet wide at one end tapering to about 6 inches at the other. Cost was £5 per 5 kilo sack from lidl. If you don't mind what varieties there's lots of these big sacks in different places this time of year.

One website says there are approx 120 daffodil bulbs in 10kgs -(but it feels like 500 when you're planting them)

This was a new bed that only had big rocks, some bags of sand and just a few weeds. So shifted all that lot, got a tarp & dug down to the right level across the whole bed then chucked them in. Children & OH turned them the right way up & we spread them about a bit then recovered. Much easier than individual planting holes.

My guess is there are about 100 bulbs per 5kg. So you planted approx 200 bulbs in that bed. It's gonna be quite speculator come spring. Should be a great sight and a welcome forerunner of summer to come.

People in the uk must collectively buy millions of flower bulbs each year. They are in the main added to already planted bulbs. All previously planted bulbs multiply. Good heavens soon the world will be an enormous garden and nothing else.

I didn't see your post Veggie til I had posted so I was a bit out with 100. I suppose depends too on the average size of the bulbs.

Some of these were quite big. We're windy here so some will be blown over but I planted that many so I can have some for the house anyway

Have some sweet William seedlings to go over the top when they're a little bigger, & some mixed annuals saved from a friends garden.
