Climbing plant ideas.

I've a couple of spare lattice against sunny walls I would like to show colour next year.
I don't want another climbing rose or any clematis. I have climbing roses and I think I'm right in saying all clematis have a short flowering period. I've also have a really old fashioned honeysuckle so I'll count that plant out too. Has anyone any suggestions - the criteria is hopefully - vigorous, long flowering period, and bonus would be perfume.
I'd be happy to combine several plants up the lattice.
I'm thinking of black eyed susan as a possible plant. Has anyone got one - how long does it flower? -
I like the idea of black eyed Susan interspersed with a electric blue morning glory. Both I could plant from seed. Nasturtium is another possibility.
Hopefully some of you have knowledge of how good 'susan' is and hopefully you are aware of other climbers that would be suitable. Thanks.

Jasmine - has to be jasmine - perfume, interesting leaves, tough as old boots.

The flowers aren't striking, small, delicate. I grew mine from a houseplant!
There's a pink flowered, variegated leaf variety but the scent isn't as strong.
I had an obelisk thing with jasmine, 2 different clematis and a passionflower - until the weight of them all made it fall over
Maybe use jasmine as the background and grow Susan and other climbers through it for colour.

Good idea. Combining several suitable climbing plants will prolong flowering time, add perfume etc. Thx.

Morning glory? Long flowering period, mine are still going.

Yes morning glory is on my list Roitelet but as its not full and bushy I'll want it amongst another climber. Thx for the suggestion.

I would choose summer jasmine too. It will flower all summer, and though as VC says, the flowers are small, it will be covered with them once it gets established and the scent is glorious. Then you could grow any climbing annuals up it - black eye susan, morning glory, nasturtium or its relative the canary creeper, sweet peas, whatever you fancy.

Thx. I am siding at the moment with jasmine and as you say others to supplement it.

Some sweet peas have very strong perfume and, as long as they are dead headed, flower well all summer - we still have them flowering now.
