  • Scented climbers for shade?

I am looking for some ideas for a climber to go up a 7 foot sand-stone wall. The spot gets roughly 1 hour of direct light during the winter, 4 during summer, with light also reflected from a house wall opposite. The soil is good, neutral and loamy. T

I know of some honeysuckles but does anyone have ideas/experience of specific cultivars or, even better, other scented climbers? Am considering jasmines but I don't know if they'll sulk and fail to flower...

Clematis like their feet in the shade and heads in the sun. You might be OK with one.
Jasmine seems quite tolerant - I have 3 I grew from cuttings from a houseplant.
Honeysuckle also tough as old boots.

Hydrenga pectoralis is surprisingly scented and is self clinging.

Thank you both! Good ideas. I have never thought of hydrangea pectoralis as scented! Must explore... Mind, I very rarely catch the fragrance of hamamellis so maybe my sense of smell isn't as good as I would like to think it is.
