Rose in a container

Hello,
I'm thinking about buying a rose and having it in a 30lt container I will use JI no3 soil with a mix ot farmyard manure. I have a nice sunny spot picked out.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a nice easy to grow rose?

1= I live in the north east Scotland
2= I would like a repeat flowering rose
3= a rose that ain't going to take that much looking after
4= colour is more important than fragrance to me

I too live in the NE of Scotland and I managed to kill my container planted Rose, the ones in the ground are fine, so it could be me rather than the conditions. I am however requiring scent rather than looks, but a trip Raemoir GC near Banchory might give you some inspiration(I shall be there myself later today for a cuppie and a scone lol).

hi burnie.....i went out to ben reid garden centre(was at raemoir yesterday)

i bought 2 roses i got a flower carpet (Scarlet) I've planted that in the ground, and a Floribunda bush rose (Korresia) thats in a container i hope i don't die!!!

i managed to plant them both before the rain started! did you buy anything from raemoir? (i could spend all day there)

Evening all,
so I'm back again with another question.....im thinking a planting another rose bush, this time in the ground but i have a question & also hoping you guys can help me out choosing a suitable rose.

my question being can i plant a rose bush if i dig a hole in my lawn and plant it up against a fence? or will they only do well in a bed or border? I'm not wanting a climbing rose but one that will grow as a bush. my idea being i might eventually grow a row this way.

my thought goes=
i would like a orange or peach colour rose.
peferabaly thornless (i have young children that enjoy to play in the garden)
disease resistant (or low maintenance)
i have a sunny garden but live in NE scotland so needs to be ok with our climate.
repeat flowering(so it looks good all summer)

am i asking too much?
any help/suggestions will be appreciated
