Possibilities include- Stray seed, it's possible that either the packaging plant accidentally got one seed from another similar variety in the envelope - or that you messed up and mixed up your seeds.
- Genetic diversity - although the variety stereotypically has a smaller growth pattern the genetic make up could allow for (comparative) giganteum. This may be triggered by the presence of multiple genes so only pop up 1 in 1000
- Injected with the Alien Zombie Triffid gene by cosmic rays beamed from the Black Night.
Despite the complete lack of evidence for aliens, zombies, Triffids or The Black Night we all know that option three is the most likely answer.
